Hanging onto Hope:
Cancer Awareness

04/06/2015 - present

On April 6, 2015, my older brother was taken to ER by ambulance. He was in a lot of pain.

On May 5, 2015, mom's birthday, it was confirmed he had cancer.  Now I am aware there are a lot of things for cancer in the medical field today; however, are not a lot of things to ease the impact when it hits home. It's still fragile.

To date, we are hanging our hearts on the hope that dwells within us and has carried us through the years, and in 2016, we're still at it.

My brothers, in their own way, are responsibile for me learning to pray.

Aunt Berneda
As ever & Always
09/16/somewhereintime

The first time I read that phrase, it was hand-written at the bottom of a black and white high school picture. My mom's sister "Bunny Faye." Bunny, short for Berneda because Berneda's sister was too young to say Bunneyeah...!

Guess it stuck.

Anyway, since grandma passed in 2010 at the ripe young age of 100, my aunt and I have stayed in touch more often. She used to say I could have been one of hers. (Shh! don't tell all five of her kids!) Truly, I love to call her Aunt B, affectionately even though I am durn sure she probably doesn't really appreciate it. She's was stylin' type and didn't wear purple hair back in the original day and is STILL a lady with style lady by all means! Oh that's right purple hair is in again, among other colors.

Recently made for her in memory of a loving phrase gone bye. Last I heard, she was wearing it as a bracelet!
